General Meeting Minutes

Treasurer Report: No report

Safety and Blight: a few of the members inquired about a trash can being put in at the private parking lot on 2^nd street (judge’s lot). The Secretary will update if this request is possible.

Request by members for proposed re-zoning of the west 200 block of Macomb: This issue will be addressed at the CPC when they update the comprehensive plan.

Committee Report: June Coyne up dated the members that the funding for the Dorch Library Expansion/ United Furniture building is in place for the 07 city budget year.

Membership: the chair June Coyne reported that she is in the process of delivering the last baskets to the new homeowners in the OVPNA area.

Cinco de Mayo will be hosted by the Floradays on May 5, 2007 the Floradays will up be update later this month.

Mannique: will take place at the Zaran home in July. Updates to follow.

Mud Hens games: Frank Zaran is looking into a seating package for the members to attend a game.

Block Party: the event will be Cochaired by the Heck, Coyne and Noble families this year. The date for this event will be Saturday, August 11, 2007 the chairs have requested the Secretary to request the city to close off Macomb Street between 3rd & 4^th for this event.

Christmas lighting contest: this event will be chaired by Mrs. Tonya Sweat and Ms. Darlene Diekman they will be updating about there planes at a future date. Member Mark Jonson informed the members that his company might be able to be a sponsor for this event.

Historical Walking Tour: The chairs of this event updated the members that the theme will be Monroe in the year 1868 the date that they would like to have this event would be in June of 08 they informed that they will keep us updated on the progress of this event.

Member Mark Johnson, informed the members that his website has a special blog dedicated to old house owners to share thoughts and ideas.

He is also working on an updated walking tour for the OVPNA area. More details to follow his web-site is www.historicmonroehomes.com it can also be reached through our web-site at www.oldvillageplat.org.

Mr. Johnson informed the members that he has some updates that he would like to implement for our web-site he will keep us updated.
